Our Programs

Educators at 3Bees ELC are guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning & Development Framework (VEYLDF) to ensure that the educational program in each room provides young children with ‘opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in learning’ (National Quality Standard, ACECQA, 2011).

Each room has it’s own educational program that is based on knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities, and interests of each child as communicated to educators by their parents, observed by the educators and contributed by the children. The contributions of younger children are interpreted by their educators and incorporated into the program. The program is documented by educators, and this documentation shows parents’ and children’s contributions. Educators assess individual children’s learning as part of an ongoing cycle of planning, documenting and evaluation. All documentation relating to the program is readily available to parents.

3 Bees ELC implements the Victorian Early Years Learning & Development Framework (VEYLDF)  and any other relevant framework, and is guided by the revised VEYLDF’s principles:

    • Reflective Practice
    • Partnerships with Families
    • High expectations for every child
    • Respectful relationships and responsive engagements
    • Equity and diversity
    • Assessment for Learning and Development
    • Integrated teaching and learning approaches
    • Partnerships with Professionals. QA 1.1.2

The dimensions of the program supports children in celebrating the VEYLDF outcomes:

    • Children have a strong sense of identity
    • Children are connected with and contribute to their world
    • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
    • Children are confident and involved learners
    • Children are effective communicators. QA 1.1.1

3 Bees ELC’s Educational Leader oversees the program and collaborates with all educators. The educational program is discussed in team meetings, and educators provided with professional development opportunities. QA 1.2.3, 7.1.4

The verbal and written input of parents is integral to the program and is actively sought while  their children attend 3 Bees ELC. At enrolment and orientation, the Director explains 3 Bees ELC’s program to parents, and uses examples of past documented programs to show how their input is used to ensure the program is based on their child’s knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities, and interests.
